he GREAL research group, affiliated with the Universidade Federal do Sul e Sudeste do Pará (UNIFESSPA), is an academic collective focusing on gender, race, Amazonian studies, new languages, and digital humanities. The acronym GREAL alludes to the Harpy Eagle (Gavião Real in Portuguese, Harpia harpyja), a raptor native to the Amazon region. This nomenclature also references various indigenous populations known as Gavião .
