OakTREE (Oakland Thermal Renewable Energy and Electrification) creates sustainable community-based thermal microgrids that make clean energy accessible and affordable. Our system connects homes and businesses to shared renewable heating/cooling infrastructure, integrated with urban agriculture. Based in West Oakland, we're demonstrating how historically excluded communities can lead in renewable energy adoption while improving local air quality and food security.
