It hasn’t always been this way. There was a time when my studio was a graveyard of plastic tubes, synthetic solvents.
The shift came slowly, then all at once.I began sourcing linen canvases from certified sustainable farms.
I swapped my solvent jars for walnut oil and water-soluble paints.
A warmth. A truth. As if the land, honoured in the making, gives something back in the colours.

I begin to paint
