Food waste is an unsustainable issue with significant environmental and social implications. FDF works with farms, importers, institutions and retailers to identify food that can be rescued from waste.

Using energy-efficient freeze-drying techniques, food can be preserved in a lightweight and easily transportable form without requiring additional energy input. FDF's projects have involved supermarkets, airlines, and hydroponic farms working to preserve food that would otherwise go to waste.
